Panagbenga in Baguio, Philippines 2012

I almost forgot this festival from North of Philippines.  Flowers, Flowers, Flower Festival!

If you want to experience a celebration of culture, thanksgiving, and colors this weekend, the Panagbenga Festival will deliver that and more!

An army of visitors are expected to flock the streets of Baguio City on February 25 for the Grand Street Parade! The participants in colorful flower-inspired costumes and native Ifugao garb will perform ethnic dances and create unique artistry that only the people of Baguio can offer.

The Flower Parade will start at 8am but it is advised for spectators to arrive earlier so they can secure a comfortable and photo-perfect spot. The parade will start at the Panagbenga Park and end at the Baguio Athletic Bowl.

On Feb 26, the much awaited Grand Float Parade is set to amaze cityfolk and tourists alike with the beautifully crafted floats festooned with flowers and imaginative themes. With the showcase of artistry and the different flowers, this parade will exemplify what Panagbenga is all about, that it really is a "season of blooming". The float parade will replicate the previous day's route Baguio Athletic Bowl and will also begin at 8 in the morning.

Make sure to wear comfortable clothes and a light jacket to keep you warm for what is expected to be a breezy weekend in the City of Pines. You can join and dance on the streets at the Grand Street Parade so wear your most comfortable shoes! And just to be safe, pack an umbrella or a rain jacket just to be prepared for the unexpected drizzles since it is still the rainy season.

It is a big weekend for the Panagbenga festival on February 25 and 26, one that is not to miss. A lot of people are expected to witness this event but for those who cannot be there, Choose Philippines has good news for you! We will have a live streaming of the Grand Street Parade and the Grand Float Parade straight from Baguio this weekend!
