May 17, 2009.  Wawa Dam Montalban, Rizal.  Almost three years, still fresh into my mind the cool water and breathtaking dam of Wawa.

The cool majestic Mt. Batulao will relieve your hours of trekking once you get on the summit. It was April 13-14, 2008 when me and my two friends planned to climb the cliff of Mt. Batulao in Nasugbu Batangas.   

Visita Iglesia 2009

Many of our fellow Catholic Filipinos would probably practice one of the country’s unique Holy Week traditions: The Visita Iglesia. Visita Iglesia is a Spanish term which roughly means church visit.


According to tradition, Visita Iglesia is normally done on the night of Holy Thursday. But there is also no specific rule which prohibits anyone from doing it at anytime of the year. The passed-on tradition, furthermore dictates that in doing the Visita Iglesia one should visit seven churches. In each of the churches that you visit, one should reflect on one of the seven last words of Jesus Christ and do some prayer.

Avilon Zoo: MONTALBAN ZOOLOGICAL PARK

The Avalon Zoo in Rizal.  Day tour trip would be great enough to enjoy with your family, school trip and friends looking for nice fun bonding. It was last May 2009 when my friends invited me to come with them for a change of taking new photos collection in our bucket.

The Avilon Montalban Zoological Park is located at San Isidro, Montalban, Province of Rizal.

MONTALBAN ZOOLOGICAL PARK is a 7.5 hectare property which contains beautifully landscaped pocket gardens, four man-made lagoons, and more than 3,000 animals belonging to over 500 species.

The park opened to the public in the year 2003. The construction of the zoo began nine years ago, simultaneous with the acquisition of animals to be put on display. Most animals are from Asia, and Papua New Guinea.

Binondo Manila

Binondo is an enclave in Manila  primarily populated by ethnic Chinese living in the Philippines. It is the oldest Chinatown in the world, established in 1594. Historically, this was where the Spanish permitted converted sangleys, their indigenous Filipino wives, and their mixed-race descendants, the mestiza de sangley or Chinese mestizos, to reside. Similarly, Parían, an area near Intramuros, was where the Spanish first restricted unconverted Chinese immigrants. They allowed sangley settlement at Parían because it was within the range of Intramuros' cannons, and they felt they could control any uprising from the labourers.

 

Intramuros Manila: San Agusting Church, Capturing the Heritage of Filipino Culture

Intramuros Manila.  Looking back the remains of oldest street of Manila.  It was 2001 then when I first stepped to St. Agustin Church.  My friend together with her nun foster guardian showed to me the religious history of church during Spaniards time.  Its like church museum collected in different part of the Philippines and some were brought by Spanish priests in the country.  The time we went back, some relics were closed for public tour.

  

The Heritage of the North: Calle Crisologo

Every time my friends ask me where I want to go aside from beaches here in the Philippines I always think ‘bout of Vigan, Ilocos. Why? May be because of stories I’ve always heard and saw on the magazines or even in the movies I’ve watched. Now it’s a realization to step on this place particularly in Calle Crisologo where in the heritage of the place manifested on its fascinated architectural structure.

Ilocos Norte: The Cape Bojeador of the Philippines

April 19, 2009.  We supposed to skip the plan to stop by The Cape Bojeador.  We had tight schedule to compress all the wonderful destination in Ilocos but still we are mesmerized with its majestic giant structure.  We were also able to reached the top of the lighthouse over view 360 of the Cape Bojeador and South China Sea.  It was a breathtaking indeed while climbing the steep stair of the top, but guess what I can say is that "I made it!"  Traveler should not it miss out!

I am quiet hesitant to post this set of photos.  Reasons that I felt bit frustrated that my SD card run out of space to take more shots.  Added, my empty stomach dragging me to laziness. Lesson learned, always bring extra or back up.

Still I stopped and enjoy my time in their butterflies nursery and garden and it was indeed fun of watching beautiful and vibrant varieties of butterflies in their sanctuary. 

 

 

 

Kapuluan Resort in Pagudpod

April 18, 2009. Once you go to Ilocos, you should not miss out going to delightful beaches of Pagudpod. 

We had an overnight stay in this wonderful beach of Kapuluan Resort. Place is so cool much of the organic delicious menu they offer to the visitors.

Blue Lagoon in Pagudpod.  We chose Blue Lagoon, a u-shaped stretch of white beach, shaped pretty much just like Dakak.

Bangui Mill of Ilocos Norte

The Bangui Windmills are located in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. The windmills, officially referred to as the NorthWind Bangui Bay Project, were a project by the NorthWind Development Corporation as a practice renewable energy sources and to help reduce the greenhouse gases that cause global warming. The project is the first “Wind Farm” in the Philippines consisting of wind turbines on-shore facing the South China Sea and considered to be the biggest in Southeast Asia. The project sells electricity to the Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative (INEC) and provides 40% of the power requirements of Ilocos Norte via Transco Laoag.

The Paoay Church

First day of trip in Laoag was such a gloomy day for us.  We were not able to follow our schedule due to bad weather furthermore, hours of travel made us bit lazy to start the adventure.  It was late afternoon when the group decided to not miss our time or else we will be get nothing from the trip.  

After looking around the city, we first stop to this historical and Paoay Church, "Earthquake Baroque" church in the Philippines. I was not able to post the interior of the church for some photos were not retrieve after replacing of my desktop unit.   Still glad that I was able to retrieve some files.

 

Philippines: Malacañang of the North

I was wondering the how glamorous and extravagant this place when former Ferdinand Marcos staying here during his time, absolutely always welcome to high society those time.  His official residence in Ilocos Norte (also known as the White House of the North or Malacañang Ti Amianan).  

Great architecture, a mixture of Spanish and Ilocano designs.  I love the wood paneled floors, the antique grand furnitures, and such spacious dining rooms, bedrooms and veranda which overlooks the Paoay Lake which now have been turned into a museum.

 

The 14th International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2009

The Hot Air Balloon Festival was scheduled from February 12 to 15, 2009. First time to attend this exciting big balloon floating gracefully in the sky.  Glad we were able to get the ticket before the event.

Bohol : A Little Island Paradise in the Southern Philippines

I will never get tired of coming back in this little but wonderful island of Bohol.  Known as little island paradise in the southern Philippines.Wonderful powdered white sand beaches, historical architectural structure, environmental nature, hospitable people and delicious foods.  One of the wonderful place in the Philippines would enjoy for vacation.

Punta Fuego: Batangas Get Away

It is not my first time to stay in Punta Fuego of Batangas but I could say that I had a great time staying overnight with friends here in the relaxing weather of Peninsula.

 

Boracay: One of the best beach in the Philippines

March, 2007 when me and my officemates planned to come in their province, Aklan which is two hours by land travel going to white powdered beach of Boracay.   The three days of stay really such fun and enjoyable.  Since its Holyweek, I would say local and international tourist filled the beautiful island to enjoy vacation.

Boracay has been known by Filipinos as the "Number One Tourist Spot In The Philippines". While a British publication known as TV Quick, awarded Boracay Island

as the Number One Tropical Beach In The World!

 

The Art of Pottery

It was a long travel indeed yet fulfilling to reach the winding and muddy road just to find and look how pottery was being made. Rains doesn't stop to pour a long the way and the breeze adds our lazy body.

Some pottery shop was already closed and so glad we found one at the side hill of Sagada.  Here, we were welcomed with the smile of young pottery woman.  She showed to us how to make a pottery.  She made samples for us and then later on she allowed some of our friends to make their own.

Aliwan Festival 2009

April 25, 2009. Going with photographer friends in such fun and exciting events of the Philippines big festivals which yearly held in Manila Philippines.

It was also when I accompanied my friend who wanted to buy his camera.  I remembered the time when I was in his situation.  Can't firmly decide which band would be best for me since its quiet expensive to cash out money in my pocket.  Anyways, finally he picked his choice and I hope I am not become bad influence friend to rip off his cash!

Next destination . . .  the ALIWAN FESTIVAL 2009!

So excited to get along with my photographer friends. Two years ago.  I have no camera, oh just a borrowed one from friends and hmmm not even know how to operate its features.   Thanks God! I was surrounded by unselfish new friends who tough me lots of stuff about taking photos.

The hit of the sun push us more to be inspired with the amazing talent presentation of each provinces with their entry for the said festival.  Vibrant colors added fantastic talents and exhibitions.

Puerto Galera: Start the Summer Travel Destination 2012

March 22, 2012.  I was in a gloom of dragging myself at 4:00 o clock am.  My bed is like an addict to laid back not until the alarm clock hits it beat.  Must get in hurry!

Aliwan Festival 2008 is the start of my enthusiast in taking photos.  Together with my officemate, we headed Pasay Manila early in the morning to first meet the group of photo pro and amateur new found friends. 

Travel to SAGADA: Nothern pride of the Philippines

First trip to SAGADA was such a long land travel yet fulfilling.   

Majestic Falls.  There are many falls that you could find in SAGADA.  The fresh clear water coming for the mountains and the different kinds of rock formation manifest the wonder of nature.

 

Reminiscing Hot Summer in Puerto Galera

Its been four year the last time I been in Puerto Galera.  Without our office outing I would not be able to come here. Who would not remember Mang Manalo, one of the owner of the accommodation in white beach.  And we always had advance party so that we could get good room to stay which is fronting the beach. 

Boracay: Summer Travel Fun Events

Summer Time in the Philippines and on of  the most well know beaches in the country is Boracay!

June 2011, I had fun and enjoyable get away with my friends in Boracay. Second time again to be in a relaxing place of white sand and lots stuff to do.  

Reposting this list of events, the beautiful  white powdered sand and blue clear water of Boracay would absolutely makes your summer get away more fun and exciting this year.

Traditionally the peak season on Boracay is from November to May and hence it also sees the island geared up to party and celebrate all the big holidays, Christmas and New Year, Chinese New Year and Holy Week. These super-peak times are when Boracay is at its busiest and liveliest with families and groups of friends flocking to the island to make the most of the festivities. If you want a quieter break then avoid these dates.

Other events held at this time include amazing Halloween spectacles, fantastic Christmas and New Year celebrations, the kiteboard and windsurfing championships are held in early January, the Kalibo Ati-Atihan in late January and the Dragon Boat races in May.

The town of Kawit played an important role in Philippine political history. The proclamation of the Republic of the Philippines was made in this town on the balcony of the home of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo. Now a national shrine, it was in this house where the Philippine flag was first unfurled. Emilio Aguinaldo became the first president of the Philippine Republic.
