Aliwan Festival 2008 is the start of my enthusiast in taking photos. Together with my officemate, we headed Pasay Manila early in the morning to first meet the group of photo pro and amateur new found friends.

Aliwan Fiesta, The Philippines Grandest Fiesta is an annual event that gathers different cultural festivals of the Philippines. It began in 2003, aims to showcase the different Filipino cultures and heritage not only in Metro Manila but also to the world. Furthemore, promote respective region both economically and tourism wise. Aliwan is the Tagalog word for "entertainment" or "Amusement".
Competition:
Aliwan Fiesta is divided into three categories this includes:
1. Cultural Street Dance Competition (the main event)
2. Float Parade, and Reyna ng Aliwan (Queen of Aliwan)
3. Beauty pageant.
Each of the country's 17 regions have
the option to send up to two contingents representing its respective
cultural festival, as well as an option to send a representing float and
or beauty pageant contestant. Prizes and awards were given to the winners of the said event by category.
